General Thoughts
I’m swiftly approaching my 10 year anniversary at The Ready. Still partnering with “people and orgs who care.” The work continues to expand and my appreciation for how difficult and vast it is only grows. It feels difficult and meaningful and generally brings out the best in me.
Like basically everyone else in the world, trying to figure out how AI fits into… well, just about everything. On the edge of a bubble? Fundamentally changing how a lot of work gets done? Probably a bit of both.
Recently took a step back from training for triathlons and have been exploring what it looks like to focus on fitness without a looming deadline (e.g. a race). Lifting weights and walking have been the primary outlets for the past few months.
Moved to the Hudson Valley in April 2024 and have been enjoying the more northernly climate. It makes my Michigan blood happy.
Active Projects
Co-hosting The Ready’s podcast about the future of work, At Work with The Ready. Video episodes on YouTube and audio versions wherever you get your podcasts.
Learning about Irish history in preparation for an imminent trip for a family wedding and brief vacation. The Rest Is History, Patrick Radden Keefe’s Say Nothing, and Thomas Bartlett’s Ireland: A History have been my primary teachers.
I’m speaking at Responsive Conference in Oakland, CA on September 17th.
I hesitate to put this in the Active Projects category, but theoretically my newsletter, The Deliberate, is still a going concern.
Connect With Me
I’m pretty active on LinkedIn.
I log all the books I read on Goodreads.
Subscribe to my newsletter, The Deliberate.
Now Log
This is my Now page. Inspired by Patrick Rhone, who got the idea from Derek Sivers, it’s a brief snapshot of what has my attention. Updated trimesterly.
